2008 Junior Nationals Results

On July 4th and 5th, the Judo Jr. National's were held in Toronto. The Abbotsford Judo Club sent a contingent of 11 athletes this year, some of whom were previous medalists, along with some newer faces. Winning Gold in their categories, were Brandon Jobb and Rebecca Pretious. Winning bronze medals were Aaron McFadden and Nicole Edlund. Other athletes that competed hard but did not claim medals were Ray Goerke, Kaz Ezaki, Nick Pohl, Kieran Yodogawa, Aaron Beatch, Peter Chiba, and Jesse Jobb.

The Abbotsford Judo Club congratulates its athletes on their hard work training to represent their Province, and the city of Abbotsford in this national competition.


Summer Camps!

We are currently accepting registrations for our Summer Fun Day Camps. For beginners we offer 4 hour day camps filled with fun activities and basic Judo techniques. For the more serious student we have the “Boot Camp” for helping with strategies and tactics to give you the winning edge. More information about our camps is available at our front desk. 2008 Nanaimo Tournament

The Abbotsford Judo Club had great success at the Nanaimo Tournament held on March 29th. Our athletes brought home 11 medals in total, 7 of them Gold! The club recognizes the hard work and dedication these athletes have shown and congratulates them on their success.

2008 BC Winter Games

The Abbotsford Judo Club had a resounding success at the B.C. Winter games held from February 21st-24th in Kimberly/Cranbrook. It was the scene for fierce Judo competition as The Abbotsford Judo Club athletes put on a spectacular performance with five out of six athletes finishing with medals, and also claiming a gold medal in the team competition. Tyler Wakita, Allysa van den Broek and Kaz Ezaki took home gold, Aaron Beatch and Kieren Yodogawa took home silver and Nathaniel Kosovic fought hard but finished just outside of the medals.

The Abbotsford Judo Club congratulates its athletes and expects great things from them in the future.

Premiers Awards

The Abbotsford Judo Club is proud to announce that on February the 11th, 2008 two of its top competitive members, Mr. Fred Jaskiewicz and Miss Rebecca Pretious received the 2008 Premiers Sport Award! This award honors the top male and female athletes in 45 sports in British Columbia. The Club is very excited that both the male and female recipients for the Judo category of this prestigious award are members of our organization. Congratulations Fred and Rebecca!
